Douglas Fir, also known as Western Fir, is an evergreen plant native to the West Coast of North America, spreading between the United States and Canada. It can also be found in the South of Argentina, as this species has been planted vastly in Patagonia during reforestation campaigns, in the areas of transition between the Andes and the Patagonia Steppe. Its wood has good technical characteristics especially for outdoor construction, it is commonly used by many as Christmas trees in North America.
Douglas Fir originating in Argentina has a more woody and citrus-like sweet aroma than that of other Douglas Fir. With its purifying properties, it helps prevent bacteria and fungus from developing in the air. It has a stimulating effect on the lymphatic system, promoting a positive mood and a sense of focus. It can also be used as an insect and parasite repellent.
