Collection: Peruvian Awajún Pottery 秘魯阿窪峘陶藝
The Awajún people of northern Peru view pottery as an example of their harmonious relationship with nature. Awajún ceramics are handmade by the women living in the Awajún indigenous communities scattered across the Peruvian Amazon. The pottery preparation process comprises five stages: the collection of materials, modelling, firing, decorating and finishing.
Awajún pottery was declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO for their artistic and cultural value, and later in 2021 inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
