Guaiacwood comes from a tree named Bulnesia Sarmientoi that inhabits around the Argentina-Paraguay-Bolivia border. Its heartwood is green, brown or black. It is a hard and resilient wood with a soothing scent, representing an excellent choice of wood for an array of household and decorative items.

Prized for its sacred healing properties, guaiacwood is also used in indigenous medicine in South America.
